Alone I sit in a hammock outside,

Watching the stars; alone I hide,

Thinking of when we sat here together,

Dreaming of times, remembering forever.

Inside I stare at my room rearranged,

Looking so good these things that you’ve changed,

Wondering why you’ve left me to suffer,

With memories of our love’s luster,

I look at a picture of you one more time,

To remember that life sometimes is divine,

And who knows someone else may some day come my way,

But it sure is doubtful to happen today

.

I’d take down the picture and change the room’s mood,

Rearrange all my stuff but it’d seem too subdued,

I’d forget all the things that we ever had,

But surely that would make me more sad,

I’d forget all the times you showed me your love,

And forget everything that I could think of,

But forgetting is not what I want to do,

All I wanted to do is live life with you,

So I sit on this hammock with rain falling lightly,

I look at the stars and dream of you nightly,

Remembering you more and more each day,

Remembering the girl who I let slip away.
